What's on the paper
Three things are tested. One thing isn't.
🧩
Verbal reasoning
Vocabulary strength is key! ELC covers all the verbal reasoning skills necessary.
🔷
Non-verbal reasoning
Shapes, patterns and spatial puzzles. Very learnable with the right techniques and steady practice.

Maths (to Year 5)
Quest specifies that the maths is to Year 5 expectations (ELC regularly goes above this and ensures SATS success too).
No English paper
There’s no standalone English/comprehension paper in the Wirral Quest 11+. (That surprises a lot of parents who’ve read older guides online.)
GL → Quest
What actually changed when GL became Quest?
A new provider, a refreshed question style, and a lot of out-of-date advice still floating around. The fundamentals — reasoning and Year-5 maths — haven't moved. We've already updated our lessons, homework and boosters, so you don't have to second-guess anything.

How we prepare
A clear path from "no idea" to exam-ready.
✓ Small groups of six, with techniques taught step-by-step
✓ Marked homework every week on our own platform, linked to the lesson
✓ A free Sunday 11+ booster built into the weekly fee
✓ A free Saturday 9am online repeat if a lesson is missed
✓ Mock exams through the year so the exam hall feels familiar, not frightening

Small-group 11+ tuition across eight Wirral centres. Calm, structured lessons your child actually looks forward to.
